Seven Shelves keeps track of your tea. It keeps what it needs for that, and nothing for advertising.
What Seven Shelves keeps
- Your shelf: the teas you add, your storages, quantities, what you paid, and your drinking sessions and notes.
- Wrapper photos you take, and the text your phone reads from them. Before a photo is stored, its location and camera details are removed; the photo as uploaded is then deleted.
- Your account: an anonymous id until you sign in, then your Sign in with Apple id and the email address Apple shares with Seven Shelves, which may be a private relay address.
- Whether you subscribe to Cellar, as reported by Apple.
- Simple usage events, such as "scanned a cake" or "logged a session", without their contents, to learn whether the app works.
What Seven Shelves doesn't do
No ads, no selling or sharing your data for advertising, and no tracking you across other apps or websites.
Who helps run it
- Railway hosts the servers and database.
- Cloudflare R2 stores wrapper photos.
- An AI model (currently Google's Gemini, reached through OpenRouter) reads wrapper photos to identify teas. Seven Shelves sends the photo and the text your phone read, and only to providers that don't keep or train on it.
- Apple handles sign-in and payments.
- PostHog receives the usage events above.
Your choices
- Export your whole shelf as a spreadsheet at any time, on every plan.
- Delete your account in the app (Settings, then Delete account) or on the web (Account, then Delete account). That deletes your shelf, sessions and photos and revokes Sign in with Apple. See Delete your account.
How long it's kept
As long as your account exists. When you delete it, it's removed right away, and from backups within 30 days.
Children
Seven Shelves isn't meant for children under 13.
